How I teach

Every student starts with a relaxed first lesson where I get to know their musical abilities, goals and interests. From there I plan lessons that balance sight reading, technique and ear training with music they’re excited to play, whether that’s pop, classical, movie soundtracks or folk. Each lesson is structured but never rigid, so students build solid skills, stay engaged and find room for their own creativity as they work toward their musical goals.

Hi, I’m Vanessa.

I’ve spent more than ten years helping students find their way into music, and I love seeing a young player’s confidence grow week by week.

I completed my Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) training and have taught piano for over a decade. I work with students of all ages and specialize in children and young adults. Lessons come to you, so the focus stays on the music, at the piano you play every day.

Getting started is simple

Four steps from first message to a regular lesson time.

  1. Send a short note

Use the form below or send a text. Tell me your neighbourhood and the student’s age.

  2. I’ll get back to you

Usually within 1–2 business days. I’m often mid-lesson, so a text usually gets the quickest reply.

  3. Trial lesson at home

We meet, play a little, talk about goals and favourite music, and see how it feels. [Whether parents stay and listen]

  4. Choose a weekly time

If it’s a good fit, we set a regular lesson slot. Monthly packages are available. [Optional: commitment policy]

What families say

[Youngest age taught, and what readiness looks like.]

Do you teach adults?

Yes. I work with students of all ages. Most of my students are children and young adults, and adult learners are welcome too.
